RG&E to Host Informational Public Meeting in Brighton

Residents can learn about South Winton Road Gas Main Replacement Project

ROCHESTER, NY — January 31, 2022 — Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) will host an informational public meeting on Thursday, February 10, 2022 for any interested residents, customers and stakeholders in the town of Brighton to learn about the South Winton Road Gas Main Replacement Project. The virtual meeting will introduce the project, including its scope of work, timeline and impacted construction route.

This project is necessary to meet the company’s commitment to provide safe, reliable service to customers and comply with new reliability requirements. RG&E is committed to working closely with neighbors to ensure that all improvements are performed with minimal disruption to the environment and the communities it serves. This project will replace approximately one mile of underground gas main that runs along South Winton Road between Newton Drive and Palmerston Road. This project will improve the overall resiliency of the entire system in the town of Brighton while simultaneously modernizing the pipeline’s components.

Residents within 1,000 feet of the construction area have received a meeting notice. A copy of the notice and a Zoom meeting link is also available on the RG&E Reliability Projects page, as well as on the Town of Brighton’s website and Facebook.
