RG&E Releases Daily Work Plan to Restore Service to Customers - 7:00 am
Company expects 95% restoration by 11:30 PM tonight
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — March 7, 2022, 7:00 a.m. — Rochester Gas & Electric (RG&E) released its restoration plan for work that will be ongoing today. The plan includes prioritization of several critical facilities as well as restoration work. RG&E continues to work with Monroe County to identify priorities. RG&E also continues to obtain additional resources from throughout the state. Currently, approximately 4,400 customers out of the total 37,000 customers impacted are without power in the company’s Rochester division, which includes Monroe, Wayne, and Ontario counties.
Details of Mondays Work Plan Include:
Crew Information: As restorations in other areas have been completed, the company has continued to shift resources into areas with a high number of outage incidents and customers without power. To supplement the more than 500 field resources currently engaged in restoration activities, the company has continued to onboard additional resources as they become available.
Restoration Work: The company was able to restore all transmission lines that contributed to customer outages on Sunday, paving the way for restoration efforts to increase on the company’s distribution network, the system that supplies power directly to customers. While two transmission lines remain out of service in the division, they do not contribute to any customer outages. However, the company is working to restore the two lines currently out to bolster reliability of the transmission system and prevent widespread outages.
Restoration crews will focus particular attention today to the towns of Greece and Parma, where extensive wind damage occurred.

RG&E will continue to provide updates throughout the event to the general public on the companies’ websites and social media channels (Facebook and Twitter). The companies also offer customers the following reminders to stay safe.

If you must get out because of fire or other danger, jump clear of the vehicle to avoid any contact with the vehicle and the ground at the same time. Land with your feet together and hop with feet together or shuffle away; don’t run or stride.
