RG&E to Conduct Multi-Agency Active Assailant Training Exercise on Thursday
ROCHESTER, NY — September 7, 2022 — Rochester Gas & Electric (RG&E) and Avangrid’s Corporate Security Department, in partnership with the Rochester Police Department (RPD), will conduct a live multi-agency active assailant exercise at RG&E’s offices at 3 City Center (3CC) in downtown Rochester NY, on Thursday, September 8 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In close coordination with our local emergency management partners, the exercise will simulate an active assailant scenario on Company property with RPD and Company personnel role playing their response to measure and strengthen our emergency response procedures.
The public should not be alarmed if they see a noticeable increase in law enforcement and first responders in the area surrounding the event at 3CC. There is no threat to employees, customers, or the community. The exercise is closed to the general public.
Federal, state, and local agencies participating in the exercise include the U.S Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York State Police, Rochester Police Department, and the Rochester Fire Department.
