RG&E Sees More Than 500 Customers at Summer Customer Service Pop-Up Events, More Scheduled in August
Customer service reps help customers with billing issues, smart meters, energy efficiency
The Company’s pop-up “Summer Series” continues, kicking off in August at the Puerto Rican Festival
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — August 2, 2023 — Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) will continue its pop-up “Summer Series,” in August. The events are designed to bring customer service directly to the community. The Company has seen an increased demand since the start of its initiative in May. RG&E has held a total of 20 pop-up events.
More than 500 customers have received assistance from customer service representatives and advocates. Customers have received help on billing issues, smart meter installation questions, termination/shut off notices, new service and vegetation management requests, and energy efficiency assistance.
“We recognize that people were having trouble connecting with our customer service representatives, and were looking for more ways to connect in person,” said Veronica Dasher, regional manager of Government and Community Relations for RG&E. “It’s evident by the numbers that customers are pleased with our efforts and want to engage in person with our representatives, so we will continue to provide that service to meet customer needs."
