Red Cross Opening Shelter to Residents without Power

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Mayor Lovely Warren announced that the Red Cross will be opening the David F. Gantt Center at 700 North Street, Rochester, NY 14605 at 6 p. m. today (Thursday, March 2) as a shelter for families and individuals without electricity.

Due to ongoing power outages in the Lee Road area caused by high winds, a temporary shelter will open for members of the community who are experiencing extended power outages. While many residents are choosing to utilize resources including family or friends, shelter arrangements will be available for those affected until power is restored.

Those wishing to utilize the shelter should contact the Red Cross at 585.241.4400.

Questions regarding power outages should be directed to RG&E. Information is also available on their website at List of Electricity Outages.
