NYSEG AND RG&E TO USE HELICOPTERS TO INSPECT NATURAL GAS TRANSMISSION RIGHTS OF WAY
Rochester, NY – NYSEG and RG&E, subsidiaries of Iberdrola USA, will be inspecting natural gas transmission pipeline rights of way from a helicopter next week.
The companies will inspect natural gas transmission rights of way in the Oneonta, Geneva/Auburn, Rochester and Lockport regions on November 5 and 6. Inspecting natural gas rights of way from the air enables the companies to spot and correct vegetation or encroachment issues that may hinder access for maintenance and repair crews.
In the event of inclement weather, the inspections will be re-scheduled.
“We invest considerable time and resources to provide safe, reliable service to our customers,” said Mark S. Lynch, president and CEO of NYSEG and RG&E. “A helicopter provides an excellent vantage point and makes inspecting the rights of way quick and efficient.”
