NYSEG and RG&E Responding to Outages as Ice Storm Continues - 3 p.m.
Customers Urged To Avoid Downed Lines and Report Outages
BINGHAMTON, NY - April 15, 2018 - NYSEG and RG&E, subsidiaries of AVANGRID Inc. (NYSE: AGR), continue restoration efforts following heavy ice and gusty winds that began yesterday afternoon and expected to last until tomorrow. The ongoing ice storm, increasing winds and fallen tree limbs are continuing to cause outages across the state.
The storm has resulted in approximately 20,400 outages affecting both homes and businesses. NYSEG and RG&E crews have responded to and restored power to more than 20,300 customers. As of 3 pm, fewer than 50 NYSEG and RG&E customers are still affected by power interruptions. For outage restoration information you may visit NYSEG Outage Central or RGE Outage Central.
There are more than 1,300 personnel responding to the storm. Crews and contractors will continue to respond until every customer impacted by this weather event has been restored.

Stay Away From Downed Wires
- Stay at least 20 feet from a downed power line.
- If a downed wire comes in contact with your vehicle, stay inside and wait for help. If you must get out because of fire or other danger, jump clear of the vehicle to avoid any contact with the vehicle and the ground at the same time. Land with your feet together and hop with feet together or shuffle away; don't run or stride.
