NYSEG AND RG&E OFFER INCENTIVES FOR EFFICIENT LED PARKING LOT LIGHTING FOR SMALL-BUSINESS CUSTOMERS
Rochester, NY – NYSEG and RG&E, subsidiaries of Iberdrola USA, have added parking lot lighting incentives to their Small Business Energy Efficiency Program that is already saving 12,000 customers millions of dollars a year in electricity costs. Small-business customers with an average electricity demand of less than 110 kilowatts per month are now eligible to receive up to 70% of the cost of replacing existing parking lot lights with LED technology.
The LED parking lot lights are being offered to replace both pole-top and wall-mounted metal halide lighting. LEDs offer better quality lighting than metal halide lighting, a much longer life, and each LED fixture uses two-thirds less electricity than each metal halide fixture.
To receive this new technology, customers must arrange for a free assessment of their existing lighting. EnerPath, NYSEG and RG&E’s program implementation contractor, will conduct the audit, and present a detailed analysis comparing the existing lighting and the proposed measures. If the customer then decides to participate, EnerPath will remove the old lighting and install the new efficient lighting. NYSEG or RG&E will pay for up to 70% of the cost and the business owner simply pays the balance of the cost.
Since the Small Business Energy Efficiency Program launched in May 2010, NYSEG and RG&E have added many LED lighting solutions for interior and exterior applications, commercial refrigeration, high-bay and low-bay fixture replacements, and canopy lighting.
Funding for the program is limited, and is available to qualifying small-business owners on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit nyseg.com or rge.com, or call 877.359.9814 .
