NYSEG and RG&E Offer Energy Efficiency Programs to Minimize Cost while Maximizing Comfort

Companies share information on programs for using ‘smart energy’ during Energy Awareness Month

BINGHAMTON, NY — October 24, 2024 — New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) customers can learn more about smart energy opportunities to save this Energy Awareness Month. The Companies’ commitment to smart energy focuses on two essential elements leading the way for our customers: creating more comfortable living options and more comfortable energy bills. Thanks to the latest technology, national programs, rebates and incentives, customers can have both at the same time.

“Our energy efficiency programs help our residential, commercial, industrial, and small business customers maximize efficiency to help lower costs,” said Michael Del Negro, manager of Conservation and Load Management at NYSEG and RG&E. “Steps such as installing a smart thermostat or properly insulating your home or business can have a positive impact on your budget, your comfort level, and the environment.”

Our lineup of smart energy programs makes it easy to save money at home and work. With proper insulation and air sealing, customers can maximize their home’s comfort while saving energy and money throughout the year.

"Heat pumps are the cleaner and smarter way to heat your home," said Nicole Williams, manager of Conservation and Load Management. "They have among the lowest carbon emissions of any heating source, which helps lower greenhouse gas emissions and at the same time, making homes more energy efficient and comfortable."
