IBERDROLA USA NETWORKS EARNS ISO 9001:2008 CERTIFICATION

Audit verifies project quality management system meets strict international standards. 

Rochester, NY – Iberdrola USA Networks, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, announced today that the quality management system it developed for its operating companies, Central Maine Power, New York State Electric & Gas, and Rochester Gas and Electric,  to manage the design, construction and commissioning of large electric and natural gas capital projects is now certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant.

The ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognized set of standards for quality management systems developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

To achieve certification, the engineering and project management team at Iberdrola USA Networks, had to demonstrate its system had the proper controls, met all regulatory requirements, incorporated a continuous improvement mechanism and was compliant with all the international standards. SGS United Kingdom Ltd. Systems & Services, an independent management-consulting firm, conducted the certification audit in June.

The new quality management system:

• generates accurate and consistent project management metrics
• establishes a process for continuous improvement
