Avangrid Continues Mission to Build on Nation’s Climate Goals

NYSEG and RG&E to invest in infrastructure, energy efficiency, and storm resiliency projects for CLCPA-related programs across New York State


Investments are major part of Avangrid’s mission to contribute to the nation’s clean energy transition, with more than 8.6 Gigawatts of renewable energy in 24 States


BINGHAMTON, NY — October 10, 2023 — Avangrid, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), a leading sustainable energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, announced today its continued commitment to the nation’s clean energy transition. New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) will build on this commitment by proposing investments to construct and upgrade infrastructure, energy efficiency, and storm resiliency projects, to assist New York in meeting its ambitious Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA) goals to combat climate change.

These historic investments are at the center of Avangrid’s mission to contribute to the nation’s clean energy goals.

More than $4 billion for clean energy and energy efficiency projects proposed throughout New York State will be a major component of New York’s CLCPA goals to increase renewable energy and reduce greenhouse emissions by 40 percent by 2030.

Avangrid has a capacity of 8.6 GW through its more than 70 wind and solar facilities in operation across the country, which generate the electricity equivalent to powering more than 2.8 million homes with clean and renewable energy. The Company operates a robust portfolio of 75 wind and solar facilities in the country and has a presence in 24 states.
